GATTON PARK
Gatton Park is a 250-acre estate near
Reigate, Surrey. The park was landscaped by Capability
Brown in the 1760s and comprises woodlands, grasslands,
ponds and a large lake. The beautiful formal gardens
were added by Sir Jeremiah Colman of mustard fame during
the time he lived here and include the lovely Japanese
garden recently restores to its former glory. The diversity
of habitats, historic buildings, landscape and gardens
provide very pleasant surroundings for a range of learning
opportunities. Public access to the Park is mainly by
visiting groups.
